Please don't waste your money

I made a huge mistake trying to save a few dollars. Against my better judgement I purchased an E-Machine. Two months later it stopped. The motor stopped running, the machine stopped humming it just completely bit the dust. I can't describe it any better. It simply doesn't work. I spent a frustrating half hour discussing the warrenty, probably someone from India, and came to an agreement that if I paid for all the expense to ship it, they would look at it. I really don't know how other warrenties work... if the buyer has to pay for all shipping... because I've never had a computer break down before. So today I boxed it up and spent $18.00 to send it back. What happdens next is anybody's guess. Incidentally, I'm writing this review on an old Dell computer, that still runs on Windows Xp, to give an idea of how old it is. It's agonizingly slow, but unlike my brand new E-Machine, it still works.

DO NOT PURCHASE

from the time we plug this desktop it did not work. When I called emachines you can tell they received this kind of calls every time someone buy their product. the customer service said it will take at least a month for them to fix. So I retured it back to Amazon and purchase an HP. this is a piece of junk do not buy, if you do good luck.

Don't Be Put Off By Name

My department was axed and now am looking for work. Needed a PC because all my machines were owned by my company.
I wanted the most inexpensive PC that I could find because in this economy I needed money for other things. Someone mentioned Emachines. Did some reserch and found they got pretty good reviews.
I ended up purchasing a reconditioned (used) one. I also purchased a replacement plan in the event I have problems.
I've been in IT for over 20 years. I know about computers because that's been my job. Emachines, based on my research, give good computing for the money. Not necessarily the *best*, but pretty good. These are not for gamers. These are for people who want to do email, visit sites like Facebook, and watch videos.
Don't turn your nose up at this just because it's inexpensive. Do your own research. See what you find and make your choice based on that. Reasearch via Bing or Google. Look at sites that have tested these machines.
Realize also that *any PC* can be a lemon. Make sure where you purchase it will give you good service in case of problems. Also make sure you have
