By rion18 I bought this laptop after mine broke down (Toshiba TECRA A7, which lasted more than five years). It's fast, the keyboard is ergonomical, the lighting on it is awesome too, battery life is more than I expected for a laptop with these specs (more than three hours! with no energy savings settings). I'm mainly using it for studies and video processing, so it gets the job done fast. Definitely a good purchase, although my plans of buying a 4 GB SODIMM module to expand it's memory to 16 GB may be hindered since dismantling it can prove to be a bit difficult. Other than that it's awesome. I don't mind the design, I personally like it, but I know there's a few out there that absolutely hate it. It's a bit heavy but I don't plan to carry it around much, mostly home or friends' houses so I don't mind that. The backpack is cool, BIG and "shiny". The ROG mouse looks and feels awesome, but I'm in love with my old Microsoft Trackball Explorer USB 1.0! For it's price, the ASUS G53SX-A1 is a steal
